ADD FIXED  CUSHIONS TO WOOD PEWS FOR IMPROVED COMFORT

Egan’s Church Furnishings offer several practical options to improve the look and comfort of your church pews.   Our upholstery team help you convert your old, solid wood pews, to “like new” pews with either a cushioned seat or cushioned seat with cushioned back.

Many parishes are looking to upgrade their functional, but uncomfortable seating for the parishioners who attend regular services.   In addition, converting to cushioned seats and backs is far less expensive than refinishing the pews or replacing them.

Above:Egan’s assisted St Anthony of the Desert in Fall River, Ma with their complete interior make over.   The pews were structurally sound, but the parish wished to “change the look” without the cost of new pews.   Egan’s upholstery crew added 2 inch thick cushions to the seats and 1 inch thick cushions to the backs with a nice nylon fabric to compliment the new carpet.

 Plywood based cushions:

Another option to add cushions to wood pews is to have factory made, plywood based cushions installed.   These cushions can be made to any length or width with either 1 ½ in or 2 inch thick foam.    Simply carefully measure each pew and provide the sizes and we can have our factory build the cushions to fit.

Your cushions can be made to simply  be placed onto the pew complete with a no slip base so they stay in place or with a plain plywood base for gluing to the seat.

Above: Egan’s upholstery team assisted St Joseph’s Church in Leicester Ma to add comfort to their historic pews.    Structurally sound, but quite uncomfortable, Egan’s installed new 2 inch thick seat cushions which made

these pews much more comfortable without loosing the beauty of their historic Church.

All our cushions are made with the highest quality, high density foam with your choice of fabrics.    We feature the “Sherpa Shire” line of fabrics for their quality durability and meet the California fire code # 117.  (Most states follow this code).   Other fabrics are also available but may require an upcharge for special ordering.
