Egan’s Church Furnishings was engaged by St. Charles Borromeo Church in Meredith, NH to draw and carve a marble statue of St. Charles Borromeo as he looked in real life. St. Charles Borremeo, also known as San Carlos Borromeo, pictured here, is being carved in solid Carrara marble, using the same marble quarries used by famous sculptors for hundreds of years in Carrara, Italy.

One of the artists from Egan’s Church Furnishings and Restorations sketched a design of San Carlos Borromeo emphasizing his distinct Roman facial features.  Small details like the lace garments were incorporated in the drawing as requested by the donor and Pastor.  Ten weeks ago a final drawing was approved and sent to our artist in Italy.

The donor and Pastor have been kept abreast of each stage of the process including review and approval of the final drawing; review and approval of the pictures of the rough cut and final approval of the completed marble statue prior to crating and shipping.  St. Charles Borromeo Church is expecting delivery of their new hand carved religious statue by mid December 2012.

Call Egan’s Church Furnishings and Restorations for competitively priced, custom carved, marble and wood religious statues, carved by generations of the finest Italian religious sculptors in the world.

Happy Thanks Giving from Jim & Bob Egan
